If you've been to a BCB show recently you may have noticed a few new faces on stage. One of those folks would be our new bass player Matt Slagle. Does anyone else think that he slightly resembles Don Cheadle? Anyway, he's pretty stellar and wants ya'll to know that eating bubble wrap can cause AIDS.
Another new face on stage is guitarist Hunter St.Marie. Man, straight up, I think lead guitars are already pretty danged cool. Now we've got two of 'em!! Paul Russell & Hunter St.Marie. They go together like ice cream and asparagus.... fried bananas and crystal meth.... lamb and tuna fish. They just straight up are like real good. Come check 'em out. ~O. In other news - Joseph Drew, the bassist, and his wife recently received a new addition to their family this weekend. It's a little girl and is probably going to be named Daytona McNascar. The new album, Desperate Hearts, is almost complete. Start looking for a new single to hit the airwaves at the beginning of the year and keep visiting our website/myspace for an official release date of the full album. We're thinking February. Just pencil that in. Don't use ink just yet. All apologies for the delay, but we've been taking our time in order to make it the sweetest piece of heaven put on a CD. But you can wait. You'll be glad you did. Quote it. Also - be sure to consider our "Not Just Another Night" New Year's Eve event for your New Year's Eve festivities. This event will be located at the Ellis County Expo Center and will feature artists Dakota Butler, Mason Reeves, The Chad Hammock Band, and your's truly - The Bart Crow Band. The doors will open at 7pm and the music will start at 8pm. Tickets are $20 pre-sale and $25 at the door. What's awesome is that you can bring a cooler full of your choice beverage [no glass please]. If you are a business or just a group of friends/family and want a V.I.P. table then guess what.... we have a few of those as well. These $500 tables are positioned in a prime location, seat 10 folks, and include complimentary champagne. They're sellin' like hot cakes though, so hurry up and reserve yours ASAP. However, I thought I would get on here right quick and write an entry about the new addition to the BCB family. Some may have noticed that there were a few different gentleman playing bass from show-to-show for the past few months. This will not be the situation any longer. After a few auditions, sit-ins and general conversations about someone to play bass for us, we've finally found our man. His name is Joseph Drew. He is the new bass player. He's funny. Go up and demand him to tell you a joke next time you get a chance. He also likes to go by the nickname "Jopi." At first we thought it was pronounced Jopp E. But this is not the case. It's actually more like Joe P. He let us think it was Jopp E for a while before telling us the correct pronunciation. See - that's funny.... Like I said. Anyway. I unfortunately cannot show you what he looks like because I currently do not have a two-dimensional counterpart of his likeliness. All apologies. What I will share with you though is a picture of Paul that kind of looks like Jopi. Here you go. Later. ~O.
