"You know Houston, just when I think you couldn't possibly be any dumber, you go and do something like this... and totally redeem yourself."
I never liked Houston. Houston didn't like me. Fair enough. However, this past weekend was fun. Two pretty good gigs in a row always makes for good times. Friday night was cool because the BCB opened for Shoalwater (an acoustic local fave) and the Eli Young Band (hot as hell right now) at the Side Car Pub. Hopefully, they'll be back for a headlining gig soon, cause the place was rockin' it's proverbial socks off.
Saturday, we made the long trek (about 20 minutes) to Tomball and loaded in for a sound check at Gary's Spot. It's a nice sized bar with some definite potential. Thanks to Gary and crew for taking care of us. The best part is that they are getting house sound so no more lugging in the juice!
Our new friends, Greg and Lane (of G & L Crawfish), provided some good preshow grub for a good price. If you like crawfish, gumbo, etoufee, and other bayou food, check them out in Tomball.
Pet Peeve of the Week: Hotel Amenities It's absurd when a hotel doesn't provide the basic features that ALL rooms come standard with. Our friends, Casey and Rueben, stayed in the next room where we were and they had no working toilet or shower!? We heard the rumor that the joint used to be a "cat house" but that's ridiculous....
We've got new merch for your buying enjoyment!!! We'll be in Graham and Van Alstyne this weekend, and then a big home show at Woody's Tavern on the 10th! See you there!
