BART CROW BAND DIARY

Well, it's been almost a month and I'm back to write about the stuff that goes on during BCB travels. It's a wonder how I can remember some of the things but I do my damndest to include it all.

It was cool during Larry Joe Taylor festival this year to hang out with Chuck, Bart, and Paul. If you've never gone to a festival try to make it next year. It features some of the hottest acts in Texas music. Unfortunately, the BCB hasn't been asked to play yet, but that should soon change. I would like everyone, to get out there and "demand" the BCB for LJT '07. Why not? These guys have worked their tails off gigging here, there, and everywhere. They deserve a chance to show tons of people what they are made of. The kicker is that two of the band members graduated from Tarleton State University, so the festival is like home. Start a petition, call the radio stations and request the songs, honk your horn, blare the BCB record on your stereo. Do what needs to be done to see them live out there in '07.

Okay, fast forward to this past weekend. It was all about snakes, spiders, and tornados.

Waco, TX. Home of Big Red, Coca-Cola, the Branch Dividians, and of course Lakeside Tavern. This place is owned and operated by fellow musician Casey Kelley. He brings some of the best talent in Texas to his bar on the outskirts close to the airport. After a kick ass loud show, all hell broke loose outside.

The wind picked up, rain fell (big old fat rain) and the storm sirens were going off. We ended up staying at the bar for some complimentary hospitality, in the form of beverages to pass time and keep us warm. Thanks brother! Finally, we were able to leave Waco and head back to Fort Worth. Of course, you've got to stop in West for some kolaches (open 24 hrs, I believe).

Saturday night, like most gigs at Adair's Saloon, was terrific. Like I've said before, Adair's is one of those venues that make most others seem like childsplay. Usually a great crowd comes out and really gets into the music. Thanks to Lois, Joel and the gang for always providing a sweet place to jam. Also thanks to all of our friends that came out to support the band and their drinking habits.
