Woody's gigs, jim beam, and stripper jackets.
It feels like weeks since this diary has been touched. It's good to be back. The BCB hit cowtown for a pair of shows worthy of supersizing. Yeah, can I get a number 5, hold the onions, and supersize that please...yeah, thanks.
The Woody's show was exactly how I thought it would be. Packed to the brim with peeps ready to rock out. I think Kenny Rogers was there for a little bit... not the Gambler (he had to hold'em so didn't make it out) but the Texas Ranger's pitcher. He didn't stay for the BCB set. That's his loss. Go Rangers! The Dedringers kicked the show off right. If you've never heard them, you should check'em out. Young musicians with a lot of soul and talent. Good guys. Thanks for everyone coming out to make it so special. It made for a BA after party, too. Thanks to all who came over to share in the booze, the chinese food, and the good time. We love you long time.
The rebound show was at Overtime Bar y Grill in Burleson. We're thinking the weather held some folks back, but the ones that were there seemed to enjoy the tunage. You should have seen us trying to load the trailer after the gig. Chuck busted ass and we all were on the verge of it. No need the ice....no need.
It's weekends like this last one that make it all worthwhile. One a month would be perfect. It's good to have home field advantage.
By the way, one of the party'ers left a jacket at our house that smells really good. We've left it on the futon so it can send the scent into the air of our dining room.
Until next time....request "Wear My Ring" on the radio.
See you on the road...
