Yesterday, we scatted up to Lubbock to play at Bash Riprock's (Bashes to the locals and people in the know). I always enjoy road trips and this one was no exception. Our buddy Ronny made the trip to fill in at bass, so it was good hanging out with him. For future reference, every road trip should begin with a Taco Bueno/Whataburger stop. It makes sure everyone is "good and ready" for the long haul cooped up together.
The wind made it hard for us to get any kind of good gas mileage, especially with a trailer. If you've never made the journey, there's not much to see past Abilene. So be prepared. What do people do out there for fun? I've always wondered that because it is the definition of Middle of Nowhere, USA. However, there are some really nice people to meet.
Thanks to the beautiful waitresses for keeping our glasses filled while we jammed out. One reason, for the great service is that there was no one else there!! What doing, Bashes? What doing? I do take that back, Candra, Sarah, C(K)hristina and gang were there as well as some family. But besides that, oh my gosh. I guess the Lubbockites were too pooped from the Tech basketball win to come out.
Thanks to Candra, Sarah, Kristina, and Dante (new four-legged buddy) for letting us crash at the house and for the kegger. We learned a couple of new card games to facilitate our inebriation. In fact, it was a shocker to believe we left their place so early. Of course we had to start the return trip with a little Whataburger action.
When the time is right and the money is all right, then it has to be time for a van/bus/Leer Jet. What ever it takes to get us from point A to point C via point B in comfort.
Words of the weekend: honkshewville and porridge poots
Be sure to check out the BCB calendar, because it's getting full! We'll be in your town soon! Well, obviously not EVERYONE'S town, but eventually hopefully. To get your BCB fix until then, call into 99.5 the Wolf (you can listen online, too for all you out-of-towners) and listen to the songs on myspace!
Thanks for reading and for your support on the road!!
